To ensure our best days are ahead of us, we asked the community to help create our shared vision...
Since the end of 2018, over 2000 community members contributed to creating Mandurah’s shared vision through Mandurah Matters - one of our largest community engagement projects ever undertaken.
All of the community’s ideas and future aspirations shaped the priorities, outcomes and objectives of our Strategic Community Plan 2020-2040. The Plan is our blueprint for achieving the vision over the next 20 years, and we need the help of our residents and stakeholders to bring this aspiration and vision to life.
The Plan outlines a clear view of the Mandurah community’s aspirations for its future. It also guides the City's delivery of activities and services to ensure they are in line with the expectations of our community.
The City's Business Plan will be released shortly and outlines detailed actions for 2020 to 2024 to deliver the Plan.
But we can not do this alone. We need to work together to deliver on the plan and make Mandurah Matter.
Here are some of the ways in which the City, other partners and the community are working together to deliver the Plan:
Assertive Homelessness & Street Presence Outreach Trial
Youth Suicide Prevention Trial Project
Upgrade to the Emergency Department Peel Health Campus
Wetlands and People Plan 2017
Backyard Bandicoots Research Project
What you can do:
Buy and shop local to support local business
Promote Mandurah as a positive tourism destination to friends and family
Volunteer with community groups
Support Resident Association events and programs
Join and/or support and volunteer with local sporting clubs
Keep active and encourage others to maintain healthy lifestyles
Help our Estuary Guardians monitor and rescue dolphins
Join and/or support the Mandurah Environmental Volunteer Alliance (MEVA)
Mandurah has come a long way since it became a City in 1990, and theway we look and talk about ourselves needs to reflect our City’s evolution - what is wonderful and unique to Mandurah, and represent the place we aspire to be in 2040.
In order to support the community’s vision, build pride and reach our potential, Mandurah’s identity needed refreshing.
First, we changed the way visitors see us with a new Visit Mandurah Brand in 2019.
We were set to update the City of Mandurah’s identity in early 2020, but the health of our community became our priority.
On the 20 July the City shared our new identity which tells a story of our community and our place.
The new identity weaves all elements of our past and our future together- woven by waterways - a city with a village heart. This new identity will allow us to speak positively and with pride about where we live and what Mandurah has to offer.
The Mandurah Matters Plan 2020-2040 will guide the community's aspiration of a thriving regional city with the heart of a village. This is our Mandjoogoordap - the meeting place of the heart.

How does what you do help bring the vision to life?
By sharing with us what you or a group you are involved with or others you know are doing, we can record, report and review our journey to realising the shared vision.
It is also important to profile what is being achieved. So please provide us as much information and if possible, include photos so we can acknowledge and recognise all the contributions being made to make Mandurah Matter.
