“Woven by waterways, a city with a village heart”

After a year of collaborative work with more than 2,000 community members across stages 1, 2 and 3 of the Mandurah Matters project, this is Mandurah’s community aspiration statement and the vision that has been signed off by our community is as follows:

We are built in nature - a meeting place surrounded by unique waterways, where the wellbeing of our people and our environment are nurtured; where business in the community can thrive and entrepreneurship is celebrated.

We will be the place where a thriving regional city and the heart of a village meet.

This is our Mandjoogoordap

Stage 4 of the Mandurah Matters project focuses on encouraging all Mandurah residents to commit to helping achieve the vision and working together to bring the aspiration to life.

You told us what matters to Mandurah; we listened…

We have developed a Vision for Mandurah and a draft Strategic Community Plan based on your input and now would like to hear back from you.

The draft Strategic Community Plan 2020-2040 is now available for your comments – Tell us if we have got it right, prior to the Plan being finalised. The plan will be available for public comment until Wednesday 4 March 2020.

Once formally adopted by Council, the City will work towards supporting the community to ensure all key stakeholders (including State and Federal Governments, the City of Mandurah, the Mandurah community and all other partners) play an active role in delivering the desired outcomes for our community.

We need help from residents, local businesses, community groups and organisations to bring the vision to life and to put into action activities and initiatives that will have far-reaching benefits for everyone.

You are encouraged to commit to bringing the vision to life by continuing to make Mandurah Matter or joining the large group of passionate community and business people who have already shaped the community vision and aspiration for the future, via their involvement in Mandurah Matters - stages 1, 2 and 3.

We have a strong sense of community in Mandurah, and we are all responsible for promoting a positive image of our city to Make Mandurah Matter.

We can all do this by sharing the pride we have for our city, and the reasons we love Mandurah, which is an important part of celebrating our community and shaping our future.

Show your passion for where you live, continue to get or stay engaged, and commit to making Mandurah Matter below:
