Let's work together to ensure the future of the Rushton Park Precinct meets community needs and aspirations
Rushton Park is the premier sporting precinct located in the centre of Mandurah, spanning 18.5 hectares. The precinct is home to a variety of community sporting clubs including lawn bowls, croquet, tennis, netball and Australian rules football at community and State level.
The previous Master Plan for the Rushton Park precinct was over 10 years old and needed a thorough review, so in early 2024 the City of Mandurah engaged external consultants to help develop a new Master Plan for the precinct that is functional, achievable, sustainable for future capital investment, and that will improve the efficiency of the land to meet the needs of current and future generations.
Following extensive engagement with the Rushton Park sporting groups, local residents and State Sporting Associations, and following consideration of a number of development options, a draft Master Plan was adopted by Council at its June 2025 meeting. Council endorsed the draft Rushton Park Master Plan for the purposes of undertaking consultation with the wider community and stakeholders.
Key features of the draft Master Plan include:
Relocation of Mandurah Netball Association and North Mandurah Tennis Club
Regional stadium with capacity for up to 20,000 attendees
Upgraded lighting for night games
Improved pedestrian links and passive recreation areas
New toilet/storage facilities and shaded seating
Enhanced safety, accessibility, and surveillance
New multi-use community and sporting facility
Opportunities to attract major events to Mandurah
The draft Rushton Park Master Plan is now open for consultation and will remain open until the end of September 2025. We would love to hear from you, so please take a look at the Master Plan documents on the right to view the draft Rushton Park Master Plan and associated documents.
