A range of public open spaces are due for upgrades as part of the City of Mandurah's annual Parks Renewal Program, and now is the time to have your say on these important local spaces.

Parks identified as part of the program include:

  • Florida Foreshore, Dawesville
  • Watersun Reserve basketball court, Silver Sands
  • Darwin Terrace Boardwalk, Dudley Park
  • Bardoc Reserve, Greenfields
  • Henson Park, Silver Sands
  • Olive Park Reserve, Falcon

Before concept plans are developed for each park upgrade or renewal, we need your feedback to make sure these great spaces can cater to our entire community. Keen to see a new swing set installed? Or some extra paths to help connect areas? We want to hear from you!

Community feedback plays a vital role in helping us create spaces, places, and neighbourhoods that work for all Mandurah residents.

Check out more information about each park - including how to have your say and when we will be holding a drop-in session in your neighbourhood - below.

Watersun Reserve Basketball Court, Silver Sands

It’s been a little while since we asked for feedback about the future of the basketball court at Watersun Reserve, so we wanted to share an update on where things are at.

Firstly, thank you again to everyone who had their say 🙏

Your feedback showed that this space is really important to the community and is used for staying active and connecting with others.

The City has been looking at different options for the park based on your feedback.

We had planned to share a final concept by the end of June (which is soon), but more time is needed to work through a few remaining issues before the best option can be confirmed.

A key focus has been making sure the final outcome balances maintaining a valued community recreation space with minimising impacts on surrounding properties.

We’re currently seeking further advice to better understand what options are possible and how to achieve this balance.

While we are working hard to find a win-win solution, we are still committed to:

  • Keeping meaningful recreation spaces in the reserve
  • Using community feedback in the future design
  • Improving how the space works and feels for everyone

Another update will be shared once this work is finalised.

Thank you for your patience and continued interest in this project.
