Help shape a new youth park in Lakelands

Something exciting could be on the horizon for Lakelands, and your ideas can help shape it!

The City of Mandurah is planning a new youth park, and the local community - especially young people - can help decide what it looks like.

Why this is happening

Lakelands and Madora Bay are growing fast. More families are moving in, which means more kids and teens need places to go after school and on weekends.

Mandurah already has lots of great parks, but there aren’t many spaces made just for young people. When the City spoke with the community about skate and BMX spaces, one message came through clearly: the northern suburbs need a new skate park.

Where it will be

The proposed youth park will be built at Lakelands Park. The site is close to Coastal Lakes College and the Lakelands Shopping Centre, making it easy to get to and a great place to meet up with friends.

What's happening now?

Our first round of consultation is now closed. Big thanks to everyone who popped into a drop-in session or checked out the project online to have their say on the design of the Lakelands Youth Park!

We received some epic ideas, particularly from local young skaters who will use the park the most.

Our team is now working hard to develop a concept plan that will bring those ideas to life. This process takes about two months. Once published, we'll post the concept plan here.
