South East Dawesville Foreshore update - May 2025

Progress at the South East Dawesville Foreshore is ramping up, with the new public space coming to life.

Some of the latest works completed on site at Estuary Road include:

  • Concrete pathways laid
  • Basketball and netball half-court installed
  • Playground equipment installed
  • New car park surface laid

The wide concrete pathways will provide an accessible and connected space, while the additional car park will include new ACROD bays once complete.

The play equipment has been designed to blend into the natural environment, reflecting the area’s coastal and bushland settings.

Other key additions set to be completed in the coming weeks include:

  • Rubber soft-fall flooring and mulching
  • Fencing around the play space
  • Grassed spaces overlooking the water
  • Shelters with seating, barbecue facilities and drink fountains

Preserving the natural environment has been a key focus for the project, with existing trees protected and a further 66 native trees and 4000 native plants to be planted around the space. Nesting boxes for local wildlife will also be installed in the more mature trees.

The project remains on track to be completed by the end of June.
