Play by the Bay: Join us to celebrate the foreshore opening
Join us for a Play by the Bay as we celebrate the opening of the South East Dawesville Foreshore, our newest epic waterside space!
Come along to this FREE community event and test out the area’s new playground equipment, basketball / netball courts, shelters, and turfed spaces.
Play by the Bay will include:
- A free community sausage sizzle (cooked by our friends at the Falcon Lions Club)
- Coffee van
- Live music by Danny Bau
- Face-painting
- Bungee trampolines
- Rock climbing wall
- Giant games

About the new foreshore!
Construction of the South East Dawesville Foreshore has transformed the space along Estuary Road into a vibrant and inviting spot for our community.
This will be a space for families and all locals to play, unwind and create special memories by the water’s edge.
Highlights of the foreshore include a large playground area, basketball and netball half courts, grassed picnic spaces, and comfortable shelters with barbecue services – all overlooking the pristine Peel-Harvey Estuary.
The new foreshore also features a network of wide and connected paths, and additional car parking (including ACROD bays) for accessibility.
Design of the foreshore was shaped by valuable community feedback received during consultation periods in 2019 and 2024.
Shaped by natural elements, the foreshore has retained the natural look and feel of the Dawesville environment, which was raised as a priority by our community.
The project also placed a large focus on protecting the natural environment, with no trees removed from the site. The City of Mandurah will plant a further 66 native trees in the area, as well as 4,000 native plants during the landscaping process.
