Nightworks planned for Mandurah Terrace resurfacing

The City of Mandurah is resurfacing sections of Mandurah Terrace this November, as the existing road surface is due for renewal. The works will help maintain the road and reduce the need for larger repairs in the future.

Works will generally take place overnight to reduce disruption during the day. Temporary road closures, detours and changes to access will be required as works move along Mandurah Terrace.

📅 What is happening and when?

Resurfacing works will take place on sections of Mandurah Terrace between the city centre precinct and Peel Roundabout.

  • Works are scheduled from Monday 9 November to Thursday 26 November 2026.
  • Works will happen in sections, moving from south to north.
  • Sections of the road will be closed, and works will happen between 6.30pm and 5.30am, Sunday to Thursday, with the road reopening each morning once the night’s work is complete.

Works will start at the southern end of Mandurah Terrace near Pinjarra Road and move north. Temporary road closures will be needed within active work areas, with traffic management and detour signage in place to guide motorists safely around the works.

🛣️ Why is the resurfacing happening?

The resurfacing forms part of the City’s ongoing road maintenance and renewal program.

The works will improve the condition of the road surface, helping to extend the life of the road.

We are completing the work overnight to try and reduce disruption to daytime traffic, local businesses and people visiting the city centre.

🚧 What can I expect during the works?

We know roadworks can be disruptive, particularly for people living and working close to the works. Most works will take place overnight, with Mandurah Terrace reopening each morning once the night’s work is complete.

During construction, you may experience:

  • Temporary road closures and detours within active work areas. Traffic management and signage will be in place to help you get around.
  • Construction noise from machinery used to complete the resurfacing works.
  • Increased vehicle movements around the work areas.

Local businesses will remain open throughout the works, and the City will work closely with affected businesses to maintain access wherever possible. Pedestrian access will also be maintained where possible.

Drivers are encouraged to allow additional travel time and follow directions from traffic management personnel and signage while travelling through the area.
