My Street Cares

Billy Neal, a local Falcon resident started a simple site mystreetcares.com to encourage neighbours to support each other within their street.

Here is Billy's story:

I started a simple site "mystreetcares.com" you may have seen it in the mandurah mail. The site features quick and easy instructions to set it up in your street, that have been fine tuned as we developed it in our street (Koolinda St). The program confidentially identifies those at risk in the street; elderly, sick, kids with asthma etc. It also identifies those who can help and what skills they have; car for drop off shopping/medication, first aiders, telephone support and those that already have an existing relationship with those at risk. A trusted coordinator from the street organises requests to the volunteers who carry out the help. We have shopping to the door, financial offers of help, meals delivered, phone chat and in the event of no ambulances a lift to A & E and then 2 week isolation for the driver organised. Any person who is struggling from whatever situation or background can contact us in our street (and we have a few from adjoining streets to ours too).
