Background
The City of Mandurah has received a development application for a Place of Worship at the above location.
Under Local Planning Scheme No. 12, a Place of Worship within the Rural Residential zone is classified as an ‘A’ (discretionary) use. This means the proposal requires development approval, subject to public consultation and assessment.
The application includes the following components:
A single church building with a total floor area of approximately 1,200m², located in the north-west corner of the site
A main auditorium with seating for approximately 370 people
An entry foyer area with 69 overflow seats for incidental use
Several meeting rooms, a creche, kitchen, and ablution facilities
96 car parking bays, including 4 ACROD bays
Modifications to Lakes Road, including the installation of two turning lanes to facilitate safer site access
Removal of 25 trees on-site and 5 street trees to accommodate access works
The proposed development is intended to support approximately 240 members, with regular weekly worship services and meetings.
