The Mandurah Centre Plan is a roadmap for how Mandurah’s centre will develop over the coming years.

It covers what is (and isn’t) going to happen with regards to housing, shops, public spaces, transport, and parking, ensuring the area grows in a way that benefits everyone while still preserving our laidback lifestyle and beautiful natural environment.

Formally known as the Mandurah Strategic Centre Precinct Structure Plan Review (MSCPSP), it is a planning document that guides how land can be used and developed in Central Mandurah with regards to:

  • Creating more housing options to suit different lifestyles, and without the need for more clearing of the natural environment.
  • Making it easier to walk, cycle, or use public transport.
  • Supporting local businesses and create new jobs.
  • Improving Central Mandurah as a vibrant, welcoming space.

The Mandurah Centre Plan covers some parts of central Mandurah, Silver Sands, the Mandurah Train Station precinct and the Mandurah Ocean Marina. Parts of Dudley Park may also be reviewed and considered. You can view the entire area on the site map in the documents section of this page.

So what's happening now?

The City is reviewing the plan and wants to hear your ideas! Your input will help shape a Mandurah that works for you, your family, and future generations.

    Hi Meredith,

Sorry about that. We've just uploaded another version of the plan boundary, which is hopefully a little easier on the eye.

You can view it below, but just in case it doesn't load properly, I've uploaded it here: 29db481a2bc7aabf758c8921ec51e9ff_Mandurah Centre Plan - Map-01.png (4963×3509)

When will Mandurah get a bowling Alley

BarbP asked about 2 months ago

    Thanks for the question.

While we'd love to see our community hitting the lanes and knocking down strikes, opening a bowling alley is a commercial decision, which would require a landowner to decide if opening one was commercially viable.

    Thanks for the question.

As this land is privately owned, this is a decision for the landowner, not the City.

Phylamina Chircop asked about 2 months ago

    Hi Phylamina,

The land around the Woolworths and Smart Street Mall shops is privately owned commercial land, meaning any decisions for further development can only be made by the landowner.

Our current and proposed structure plan intends to allow for increased development of these areas.

    Hi Kathryn,

Great question! Reviewing street lighting in the George Street area is an action under our City Centre Master Plan. This is one of many pre-existing plans that will help inform the broader Mandurah Centre Plan project.

So, to answer your question: Yes, the need review street lighting in the area has been identified.

For more info, or more specific details, please contact our Strategic Planning team on (08) 9550 3777.

    Hi Meredith, great question!

We're currently in the process of notifying stakeholders and residents based within the boundary of the Mandurah Centre Plan, so our advertising efforts have been focused on more direct communications including face-to-face workshops and emails. We've taken this approach to give the people who may be impacted by the review the chance to familiarise with the project before seeing it on their socials (where we can only include limited context).

Having said that, it's almost time to begin advertising this to the broader community, which will include posting updates about the project to our socials. Keep your eyes peeled over the coming days.
