The City of Mandurah is assessing an application to amend the Madora Bay North (Seaside) Local Structure Plan. The application is seeking to introduce Tavern as a land use which can be considered in the Local Centre zone.

If the Structure Plan amendment is approved, a Tavern would become an A land use - meaning any development application lodged by the landowner to develop a Tavern would need to be advertised. At this time, detailed plans and supporting information would be available for assessment against the relevant planning framework (e.g. state and local policies).

It is important to note that the application to amend the Local Structure Plan is being made by the developer and not the City of Mandurah. The City's role is to assess the application, before a recommendation is made by Council. The recommendation made by Council is then forward to the WAPC for their consideration and determination. The WAPC is the decision-maker on this matter.

The City is advertising the Local Structure Plan in order to assist with its assessment. Submissions on the proposal should be made in writing to the City by 25 June 2025 via email planning@mandurah.wa.gov.au.
