Consultation has concluded
With nearly 15,000 dogs registered in the City of Mandurah, responsible dog ownership is so important for our community.
Did you know that responsible dog off-lead exercise is allowed within designated areas including over 17kms of coastline and 26 reserves throughout Mandurah? These areas help to contribute to happier, healthier, better socialised dogs, and create a community space for dog owners to socialise.
Lakelands Park (Lakelands District Open Space) provides an opportunity to support the community of Lakelands and maximise the usage of the facility in a manner similar to other active reserves across the city.
In March 2021, Council supported the creation of a dog exercise area on the southern ovals after 5:00pm and before 8:00am daily, except where active sporting activity is being undertaken.
The open space is an extremely popular site for active sport. When the dog exercise hours were set, it was established to ensure the need for dogs and sport is effectively managed.
We also committed to a review of the dog exercise arrangements for Lakelands Park to be undertaken in 12 months after being established to ensure they are working for our community and to assess any recommended modifications.
Please take the short 2 minute survey below to help inform the review.
