To ensure our best days are ahead of us, our community helped create our shared vision for Mandurah. Our community helped shape the 20 Year Strategic Community Plan which sets the framework to deliver what’s important for our community to make Mandurah matter.

Mandurah's City Centre is the heart of our city but what's so important about creating a thriving city centre?

City centres are important because they provide a place where you can live, work, learn and play within a defined precinct.

An effective city centre is a place that is lively, has varied employment opportunities, retail, housing and allows for amazing cultural experiences - plus ours is enhanced by being on the doorstep of our pristine environment.

City centres can create huge economic benefits for a community as well as increase the liveability and happiness of its residents.

We need a more diverse city centre precinct in order to fully achieve this, and we are definitely making strides to pursue this goal.

There have been some great steps taken in recent times in Mandurah's City Centre evolution...

These include:

We're asking our community to help shape our City Centre Master Plan and Parking Plan.

What matters to you about the future of the City Centre? Join the conversation and help shape the development of the City Centre Master Plan and Parking Plan to establish a clear vision for the City Centre and surrounds, guide future development and attract investment.

The Master Plan will also help connect recent projects and existing strategic plans for the City Centre into an overarching vision. The City Centre's vision will capture the aspiration and evolving nature of this particular area.

The City Centre Master Plan will focus on four precincts:

  • Precinct 1: City Centre Core
  • Precinct 2: City Centre North
  • Precinct 3: Western Foreshore Precinct, incorporating Henry Sutton Grove, the Western Foreshore and Sutton's Farm
  • Precinct 4: Marina Commercial/Residential

The Master Plan will focus on the bigger picture and how the precincts will help achieve the shared vision for the City Centre.

Thanks to our community that told us what matters to you for our future City Centre...

The survey has now closed and focused on three key areas:

  • Movement - the way we travel to and move around, the City Centre.
  • Character - how we celebrate and embrace Mandurah’s point of difference.
  • Activity - how we create a city centre environment that inclusively invites people to work, live, learn and play.

Check out the key findings from the survey here.
