Blue Bay Foreshore Upgrade

Blue Bay Foreshore is due for an upgrade, and we need your help to plan and build a park that works for our community.

Background

Blue Bay Foreshore is one of Mandurah's favourite waterfront spaces. It provides locals with a place to connect with nature, spend time with family and friends, and enjoy our beautiful waterways.

The City of Mandurah is planning for future upgrades to the foreshore, with works anticipated in the 2027/28 financial year, and we want to hear from the community before designs are developed.

As a city built around water, our foreshore reserves play an important role in supporting healthy lifestyles, encouraging outdoor recreation and creating welcoming spaces where people can relax, play and connect. The Blue Bay Foreshore upgrade presents an opportunity to enhance this valued community space while celebrating the unique character of the area.

Community feedback will help shape the future design, ensuring it reflects how people use and value the foreshore today, while meeting the needs of future generations. Feedback may identify opportunities for new features and improvements, or highlight existing elements that should be retained. All ideas and perspectives are welcome.

The project will also carefully consider the natural environment. Ecologically sensitive dune vegetation along the foreshore will be protected throughout the design and construction process, helping to preserve the environmental values that make this location special.

Previous community engagement has shown that Mandurah residents value both environmental protection and activated parks and public spaces. This project aims to strike that balance by creating a foreshore that is welcoming, functional, and connected to its natural surroundings.

Please note: Upgrades will be focused on the reserve area of the foreshore. Changes will not be made to the existing car park.
