Three community members with disability sitting side by side, one in a wheelchair and two on a park bench.

The City of Mandurah is developing the next Access and Inclusion Plan (AIP) for 2026–2031, and we want to hear from you.

The AIP is a key document that guides how the City works to create a community where everyone is welcomed, included, and able to access buildings, services, information, employment, and decision-making. It helps shape how we design spaces, deliver services, and plan for the future so that people with disability can take part in community life.

Your ideas and experiences are important. By sharing your feedback, you can help make Mandurah a more accessible and inclusive place for everyone.

How to Get Involved

There are several ways you can contribute to the new AIP:

  • Complete the online community survey by 11pm on Sunday, 14 December 2025 – or request a hard copy or alternative format if that works better for you.

  • Take part in a community workshop – either in person or online.

  • Provide feedback directly to the City’s Community Development Officer (Access and Inclusion).

  • Share your ideas anytime using sticky notes or colouring sheets if you attend one of our engagement events.

We welcome feedback from people with disability, family members, carers, support workers, service providers, and anyone with an interest in access and inclusion.

Community Workshops

Join a session to share your ideas and experiences in a friendly, supportive environment.

There will be three in-person workshops and one online workshop so you can choose the option that works best for you.

  • An Auslan interpreter can be provided on request. Please let us know at least two weeks before the session if you require this service.

  • A Visual Story will be available to help people prepare to attend.

  • Communication boards and sensory resources will be available at each workshop to support people with different needs.

  • Workshops will include multiple ways to get involved, recognising that participating looks different for everyone.

Workshop dates, times, and locations will be shared here once confirmed.

Community Survey

The community survey will be open until 11pm on Sunday, 14 December 2025.

We have created different versions of the survey so everyone can share their thoughts in a way that works best for them:

  • Online Survey – complete the survey quickly and easily online here.

  • Survey Booklet – uses everyday language and includes large, clear pictures to help explain each question. This version is ideal for people who prefer more visual information and a straightforward way to respond.

  • Easy Read Survey – uses a specific Easy Read format with very simple language, step-by-step information, and supporting images. This version is designed for people who need extra support to understand the questions, making the process clear and accessible.

Collecting a hard copy

Both the Easy Read survey and the survey booklet are available in hard copy. These can be collected from:

  • City of Mandurah Administration Building

  • Billy Dower Youth Centre

  • Mandurah Library

  • Lakelands Library and Community Centre

  • Falcon Library and Community Centre

  • Mandurah Seniors Centre

If you would like multiple copies of either version, please email hcc@mandurah.wa.gov.au to arrange this.

Pop-Up Stalls and Events

From October to December, we’ll be holding pop-up stalls at shopping centres and community events across Mandurah.

At these stalls and our workshops, you’ll also find our feedback tree – a fun, interactive way to share your ideas. Simply write your feedback on a sticky note shaped like a leaf and add it to the tree, helping to make giving feedback enjoyable and accessible for as many people as possible.

Community Engagement Packs

Community groups can request a Community Engagement Pack to run their own feedback sessions.

These packs include bright, fun, and interactive resources to help groups collect feedback in a consistent and meaningful way. Sessions using the pack take no longer than 1.5 hours to run.

If you would like to run a session using an engagement pack, please email hcc@mandurah.wa.gov.au to request one.
